    Leaving for the Villa Malcontenta tomorrow, plans to sketch there. Enjoying scenery of Bad Gastein. Horthy portrait [110886] to be exhibited alongside other portraits of the artists at the Nemzeti Szalon in October. Tragic death of Queen Astrid of Belgium. Item includes press cutting from the Liverpool Evening Express (24 August 1935) mentioning the inclusion of de László's portrait of the Duchess of Kent at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibition.

Proposed commissions from the Illustrated London News to paint portraits of the Duke of Gloucester & Lady Alice Montagu Douglas Scott on the occasion of their wedding, and the Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County to paint the County prefect, Elemér Preszly. May go to Pest to paint Ferenc Herczeg and Ottó Légrády.

    Received a letter from Siklóssy about a photography exhibition at the Nemzeti Szalon on the British Empire, opened by Ambassador Knox. De László's royal portraits [9123][9126] have been reproduced widely. Reference to a picture of his that was "won by a poor man". Lucy thanks Marczi for the Christmas present; she is sorry he is not spending Christmas with them.
