    Letter from Miklós Szmrecsányi to de László confirming receipt of the photographs of de László's portraits of Mrs Burke [née Van Riemsdijk] [110584], Pope Leo III [4509] and Madame von Jaunez [5835]. Szmrecsányi has sent three photographs to Pica (possibly Vittorio Pica) and has requested good photographs be taken of Madame Hubay de Szalatnya [4825] and Mrs Van Montagu [née Trouton] [11580]. Whilst Arte Mondiale's paper and printing are not very good, his main concern is that de László be "extensively represented". Szmrecsányi has followed the artist's success with "feelings of friendship and pleasure", looking upon him with patriotic pride." "I could always see and appreciate that the highs have not turned your head", he writes, "and this is always the hallmark of true talent." He would like to accept de László's invitation, but suggests meeting in Rome in October, perhaps together with Albert Berzeviczy

    Letter written by Susan Strong on behalf of Ferenc ("Feri") Sándor Korbay, the Hungarian composer who was a great friend of de László’s. Strong explains that Korbay is ill with a chill and gout, but that he wishes de László to keep the evening of 11th September free for dinner and to go and hear his overture at the Queen’s Hall. Strong also mentions photographs of the "great portrait", which is presumed to be that of Korbay [3390], painted by de László in July 1912
