De László also exhibits a "suave and distinguished" portrait of Lady Forteviot [5199], and one of Mrs J.M. Fraser [4727], "an exquisite symphony in silver and grey." Duplicate of DLA096-0041.

The portrait of the Lord Provost "wonderfully virile and direct" [5273]; that of Lady Forteviot [5199] "an imposing composition" and Gainsborough-like; the portrait of Mrs J.M. Fraser [4727] ranks with the best of Raeburn, Lawrence or Romney.
