Letter from de László to an unknown recipient (addressed to "My dear Friend") in which the artist sends best wishes for the recipient's 80th birthday. He is currently painting Lord Reading [6747]. He will travel to Lisbon next month and then on to Madrid to visit King Alfonso XIII. He hopes to spend a few weeks in the south of Spain in order to do some studies for himself. He met the recipient's son and daughter-in-law in his Paris studio. Gerliczy said that the daughter-in-law would like de László to do a sketch, but poor timing rendered it impossible

He encloses a newspaper cutting on his portrait of Lord Reading [6747], a photograph of Lily MacDonald de Nelson's picture [110536], a portrait of the Queen of Greece [3270] and a Venetian landscape [11636]. He painted Laura Pacheco de del Solar Dorrego whilst in Paris [110545]. The letter finishes with his Lisbon travel plans

Whilst there, he should meet Sebastiano Nicotra, Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal. He may also meet Count Adelmann, Mrs Pagenstecher’s cousin
