    De László appears to have misdated the letter: see fns 1, 2 and 3 in transcription; letter likely dates to 13 August 1935

    Description of time in Bad Gastein. Clearly enjoyed meeting his brother in Salzburg and was sorry to see him go. fFeling his age and is anxious to make progress with his planned memoirs. Marczi helped furnish material for this by bringing letters from Budapest.

Horthy portrait [110886] to be exhibited alongside other portraits of the artists at the Nemzeti Szalon in October. Tragic death of Queen Astrid of Belgium. Item includes press cutting from the Liverpool Evening Express (24 August 1935) mentioning the inclusion of de László's portrait of the Duchess of Kent at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibition.
