Lieutenant-Colonel Balfour writes of his return to Dawyck and his disappointment that de László and Lucy could not visit as previously planned. He enjoyed the artist's exhibition at the French Gallery. The letter largely deals with his own work, his family and that of the artist's (he sends condolences on the passing of de László's sister, Paula)
