The sender regrets having missed meeting de László and Mrs Sifton (possibly Mrs Winfield Sifton, née Jean Gazlay Donaldson) in the artist's studio, but hopes to be able to see "the picture" another time. In 1916, de László painted portraits of both Mrs Winfield Sifton [11227] and her husband at the time, Captain Winfield Burrows Sifton [7149]
