Bayer has been commissioned by the army battalion in Esztergom to paint a portrait of Regent Horthy. As Horthy himself is unlikely to sit to Bayer, and Bayer does not wish to paint from a photograph, he asks for de László’s permission to copy his portrait of the Regent at the Museum of Fine Arts [5684].
